Promotion Credits Terms
Last updated: August 26, 2026
1. What this is
If you write about Miget on social media, you can ask us to add credits to your Miget balance for that post. Every request is reviewed by a person at Miget before any credit is added. These terms describe what qualifies, how much you get, and how often. They sit alongside the Terms of Service, which continue to apply.
2. Who can take part
You need a Miget account with an active paid subscription and at least one completed payment. The program exists to reward customers who recommend a service they actually use, so accounts on the free tier and accounts that have never paid are not eligible. Eligibility is checked when you submit a request.
3. Where you can post
We accept public posts on X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook, Mastodon and Bluesky. Links from other platforms are not eligible. Paste the full link to the post itself - shortened links and links to a profile or a home page cannot be reviewed.
The link has to open the post straight away, for anyone, in a logged-out browser. If reading it means signing in, joining or being approved for a group, following the author, being an accepted connection, or paying for anything, the post does not qualify - we cannot review what we cannot open, and neither can the people you are writing for.
Each platform has its own rules about promotion and you are expected to follow them. In particular:
- Reddit. Post where the subject is on topic and read that subreddit's self-promotion rule before you do. Say plainly that you are a Miget user. A promotional post dropped into an unrelated subreddit gets you banned, and we will not credit it.
- LinkedIn. Your personal profile, not a company page. Company-page posts read as advertising and do not qualify.
- X. Verified accounts only. Your own public timeline; anything posted inside a group or community is closed to the readers this program exists to reach.
- Facebook. Your own public profile or a public page, never a group.
- Mastodon. Any instance, your own included. Link to the post on the instance you published it from - a copy of it rendered by another instance is a different address for the same words, and we cannot tell the two apart.
- Bluesky. Your own public post.
4. What qualifies
A post is eligible when all of the following are true:
- It is your own post, published from your own account, and open to anyone with the link - no sign-in, no group membership, no payment.
- We can tell it is yours. The quickest way is to put your Miget referral link, which you will find in your dashboard under Credits, either in the post or in your profile bio. It is not required - where a platform discourages links, or where you would rather write without one, we may simply ask you to confirm the account is yours before we approve the request.
- It says something real about Miget - what you built, what you deployed, how it went. A bare link, a one-word mention, or a post generated purely to claim credits does not qualify.
- Everything you say about Miget is accurate. Do not invent features, prices or guarantees.
5. What does not qualify
- Posts from accounts created for this program, purchased accounts, or accounts used to post the same content repeatedly.
- Anything posted where the public cannot reach it: private, closed or invite-only groups and communities, members-only forums, followers-only or friends-only posts, and anything behind a paywall or a subscription.
- Posts that were public when submitted and are later restricted, made private, or moved somewhere the link no longer opens.
- Paid advertising, sponsored placements, or posts in engagement-exchange groups.
- Posts that mislead readers about who you are or about your relationship to Miget.
- Posts that attack, disparage or misrepresent other companies.
- Posts containing hateful, harassing, adult, or otherwise unlawful content, or posted in communities where the content breaks that community's own rules.
- A post that was already submitted, by you or by anyone else. Each post can be claimed once.
6. How much, and how often
Each approved post adds $1.00 in credits to your balance. You can have up to 5 requests approved per calendar month, counted across all platforms together, not per platform. Requests awaiting review count toward that limit; declined requests do not, so a request we turn down costs you nothing.
7. Review
We review every request by hand and reply by email, whether the answer is yes or no. When we decline, we tell you why. Review is at our discretion and our decision is final. We do not commit to a review deadline, and submitting a request does not entitle you to credits.
8. Keeping the post up
There is no waiting period. We review a request as soon as we get to it, and credits are added the moment we approve it - you do not have to wait for the post to reach any age before you submit it, and we do not hold approved credits back.
The 30 days run the other way. By submitting a post you agree to keep it public for 30 days from the day we approve it. If it comes down sooner, we may reverse the credits as described in section 11.
9. Showing your post
By submitting a post you allow us to link to it, quote it and show it on our website and in our own channels, crediting you as its author. We will not edit what you wrote or present it as anything other than your own words. If you would rather we did not, say so when you submit or write to us afterwards and we will leave it alone - it makes no difference to the credits.
10. Using and withdrawing credits
Credits from this program behave like any other Miget credit: they are applied automatically as a discount on your next subscription payment. Once your total credit balance reaches $100 or more, you can ask our support team about a cash payout instead.
The form, method and timing of any payout are determined by Miget on a case-by-case basis. We may require proof of identity or tax documentation before paying anything out, we may hold a payout until the underlying payments are beyond the period in which they can be reversed by a bank or card issuer, and we may decline a payout request.
11. When we take credits back
We may reverse credits already granted if the post is edited so that it no longer qualifies, is removed within 30 days of approval, was submitted in breach of these terms, or if a payment the credits were derived from is refunded, reversed or charged back. Serious or repeated breaches may also end your participation in the program.
12. Changes to the program
We may change the credit amount, the monthly limit, the eligible platforms, or these terms at any time, and we may suspend or end the program entirely. Changes apply to requests submitted after they are published on this page. Requests already approved are not affected.
